A Throwback

I came across this image today of a lace shawl that I knit several years ago, held up to a well-lit window. I love up-close photos of my knitting, especially lace or textured projects. No matter how long I have been knitting, I am always baffled by the way that clever manipulation of a few basic stitches leads to something so beautiful as this:
